Period Style Bricks

Reproduction period bricks are crafted to mirror the traditional materials and methods of historical brickwork, preserving the authenticity of structures from specific eras. Typically made to imperial measurements, these bricks often use hand-thrown moulds and are fired in clamp kilns, a centuries-old technique where bricks are stacked in layers with fuel between them, creating unique colour variations and a textured finish. This process, though more labour-intensive, allows each brick to reflect a character reminiscent of classic architecture, especially popular for restoring heritage sites or creating period-style buildings.

Stock Bricks

Stock bricks, especially yellow and red varieties, have been used widely in the UK since the Industrial Revolution. Yellow bricks, particularly London stock bricks, gained prominence in the 19th century as they were durable and locally sourced, benefiting from the natural clay found in southeast England. Red bricks, made from iron-rich clays, became widespread due to their strength and warmth, which suited Victorian and Edwardian architecture. The use of these colours not only created distinct architectural styles but also gave cities and towns a unique regional character.

Garden Landscaping Bricks

Period-style bricks are ideal for landscaping applications and garden structures, blending beautifully with natural environments and heritage properties. Their irregular texture and warm, earthy tones add an aged appearance that complements garden walls, pathways, and outbuildings, creating cohesive landscapes. By using traditional-looking bricks, modern gardens can achieve an elegant, historical charm, making them an excellent choice for those aiming to enhance outdoor spaces with timeless aesthetics.
