Stepping Stones

These 600 mm sandstone circles also make ideal stepping stones. They can be laid either as a linear path, one after another, or you may wish to use them in a staggered fashion. Whatever laying pattern you choose, you will find that these stones look great on lawns, in flower beds or garden borders.

Pot, Planter & Plinth Bases

These light golden round sandstone pavers can be used stand-alone to create ornamental garden features and accentuate elements within your garden design. They make an ideal base upon which you can place sundials, bird baths, small plinth fountains, statues, sculptures and other objects. They are great bases for placing large pots and planters on too, making them more of a feature to draw one's eye.

Circular Paving Feature

Rather than using these round stone pavers as stand-alone bases, you can also combine them with Golden Fossil setts, with the latter surrounding the inner circle in concentric rings, to create a circular paving feature. The paving circle feature can be used as a distinct area, perhaps with a small bistro table set for morning coffee, or as a design element designed to draw the eye to an ornamental piece.

This natural stone is tactile with a textured surface and riven finish, and feels comfortable to walk on. It is hard-wearing and durable, and if laid correctly will last many years.

Calibrated

These Golden Fossil Round Stones are calibrated - the paving slabs have been through a calibration process, so each slab is 22 mm thick. This precision manufacturing will allow the slabs to be laid quicker and more efficiently as all depths are uniform.

Colour Blends

Part of the charm of natural stone slabs is that each one is coloured or patterned differently. When these Golden Fossil sandstone circles are laid down on your patio or terrace, lawn, borders or flower beds, you’ll have a beautiful natural tapestry blending gentle variations of hue and pattern, to provide you with garden paving that is entirely unique.

The colour variation will also appear differently in changing light and weather conditions, with fluctuations from season to season. Sandstone is naturally a little permeable, so in wet-weather some of the surface water will be absorbed by the stone, making the colouring appear darker.

Golden Fossil blends wheat, golden and light browns with flecks and striations of gold, browns and oranges that give these slabs their fossil character and unique patterning.

Fossil Patterning

As with any natural product, quarried sandstone that has been riven, edge-cut and dressed into a slab will vary uniquely from paver to paver. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that was formed on ancient sea beds over many millions of years. Over that time, unique patterns and variations of sandy deposits on the sea floor were compressed under the weight of the sea and gravity to fuse and form these beautiful stones. With Golden Fossil you will occasionally see fossilised plants such as ferns and sea creatures such as ammonites. The colouring, flecks and patterns of these stones reflect their innate natural beauty.

Care & Maintenance

Sandstone is permeable, which means it is not impervious to spills and weathering. Therefore, to better protect your stone we recommend using a natural stone sealant such as Pavestone Natural Finish Stone Sealer, a water based impregnator that ensures protection against stains and facilitates everyday maintenance.
