These light golden round sandstone pavers can be used stand-alone to create ornamental garden features and accentuate elements within your garden design. They make an ideal base upon which you can place sundials, bird baths, small plinth fountains, statues, sculptures and other objects. They are great bases for placing large pots and planters on too, making them more of a feature to draw one's eye.
Rather than using these round stone pavers as stand-alone bases, you can also combine them with Golden Fossil setts, with the latter surrounding the inner circle in concentric rings, to create a circular paving feature. The paving circle feature can be used as a distinct area, perhaps with a small bistro table set for morning coffee, or as a design element designed to draw the eye to an ornamental piece.
These 600 mm sandstone circles also make ideal stepping stones. They can be laid either as a linear path, one after another, or you may wish to use them in a staggered fashion. Whatever laying pattern you choose, you will find that these stones look great on lawns, in flower beds or garden borders.
Golden Fossil Sandstone is ideal for patios and garden paving - its colouration, stability and fossil textures will provide you with the perfect surface for outdoor living, providing both practical performance and a rich tapestry of beautiful natural stone that alters and adjusts with the seasonal light and weather.
Sandstone is a popular choice for garden paving and patios because it is easy to cut and lay, yet provides long-lasting and robust performance underfoot. This natural stone is tactile with a textured surface and riven finish, and feels comfortable to walk on. It is hard-wearing and durable, and if laid correctly will last many years.
These Golden Fossil Round Stones are calibrated - the paving slabs have been through a calibration process, so each slab is 22 mm thick. This precision manufacturing will allow the slabs to be laid quicker and more efficiently as all depths are uniform.
Part of the charm of natural stone slabs is that each one is coloured or patterned differently. When these Golden Fossil sandstone circles are laid down on your patio or terrace, lawn, borders or flower beds, you’ll have a beautiful natural tapestry blending gentle variations of hue and pattern, to provide you with garden paving that is entirely unique.
The colour variation will also appear differently in changing light and weather conditions, with fluctuations from season to season. Sandstone is naturally a little permeable, so in wet-weather some of the surface water will be absorbed by the stone, making the colouring appear darker.
Golden Fossil blends wheat, golden and light browns with flecks and striations of gold, browns and oranges that give these slabs their fossil character and unique patterning.
As with any natural product, quarried sandstone that has been riven, edge-cut and dressed into a slab will vary uniquely from paver to paver. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that was formed on ancient sea beds over many millions of years. Over that time, unique patterns and variations of sandy deposits on the sea floor were compressed under the weight of the sea and gravity to fuse and form these beautiful stones. With Golden Fossil you will occasionally see fossilised plants such as ferns and sea creatures such as ammonites. The colouring, flecks and patterns of these stones reflect their innate natural beauty.
These pavers are quarried from the highest quality Indian sandstone, where our expert quarrymen select and cut the slabs. With their years of experience, our masons cut and shape the stone to exacting standards, so you can be assured you are getting the highest quality paving in each pack.
Sandstone is permeable, which means it is not impervious to spills and weathering. Therefore, to better protect your stone we recommend using a natural stone sealant such as Pavestone Natural Finish Stone Sealer, a water based impregnator that ensures protection against stains and facilitates everyday maintenance.
If you are looking for round and circular paving for your patio or as a standalone paved area, then Pavestone’s Classic Indian Sandstone Paving range of circular paving kits will be ideal. Each colour of Indian sandstone from the Classic range is available in three sizes of paving circle, with three corresponding squaring-off kits to match each size circle.
Paving circles are perfect centrepieces for patios, terraces and other paved spaces, whether that be for a seating or dining area, or as a surround for a sundial, water feature or statue plinth. They allow you to set a design motif into the paved area that will draw the viewers' eye and define a distinct space or focal point.
The paving circles and squaring-off kits are made from high-quality Indian sandstone. They have a riven surface (small natural ridges that occur when stone is split/hewn) and fettled (hand-cut) edges, where the masons have skilfully cut and shaped the stone.
Each circle and squaring-off kit consists of natural sandstone pieces, each hewn, cut and dressed by skilled masons. No two stones are alike, each being completely unique, which gives these paving features so much character. Expect to see colour variation, with different hues, natural marking and patterns present in each stone.
The beauty of circular paving kits are that they are pre-cut and calculated, so you know you have the right sizes, dimensions and angles to create a sandstone circle. There is no wastage or off-cuts, and the stone is pre-selected to match existing colour blends.
There are three sizes of sandstone paving circle available in the Classic range. The smallest paving circle (1.5m diameter) consists of a centre round paving slab and a single ring of eight stone segments, for a total of 9 pieces. The mid-sized paving circle (2.4 m diameter) consists of a round centre stone, and two rings of stones of eight (inner) and sixteen (outer) stones each respectively, for a total of 25 pieces. The largest paving circle (3.3 m diameter) consists of a round centre stone, and three segmented rings of eight stones (inner) and sixteen stones (middle and outer each), for a total of 41 pieces.
As the name suggest, these kits consist of pre-cut stone pieces designed to match the paving circle and provide a square around the circle that you can then use to join-in the rest of the matching patio stones to the circle.
There are three sizes of squaring-off kits to match the paving circles. The smallest (1.5 m diameter circle) consists of eight pre-cut sandstone pieces. The mid-sized kit (2.4 m diameter circle) consists of twelve pre-cut sandstone pieces. The largest squaring-off kit (3.3 m diameter) consists of twenty pre-cut sandstone pieces.
