Clay Paving Bricks - Balmoral Blend Pavers 200 x 100 mm Period Style Garden Bricks
Brick Pavers - Clay Paving Bricks
Product Summary
Balmoral Blend are a mix of high quality black/orange handmade pavers with some subtle weathering and a sand creased texture. Because they are manufactured using traditional clamp fired brick making techniques from the 16th century, they look and feel the same as genuine period clay pavers. This makes them a cost-effective alternative to more expensive reclaimed brick pavers, and ensures there is an available supply (e.g. no prolonged sourcing required) for your paving project.
These attractive clay pavers are clamp fired which produces natural colour variation, ideal for creating an instantly established, characterful look for both new and older properties.
Ideal for garden patios, terraces, pathways, seating areas, decorative paving, edging and borders. Suitable for internal and external use, fully frost resistant and manufactured to BS EN 1344 standards.

Traditional Black Orange Pavers - The look and feel of authentic historic paving bricks of the Tudor to Queen Anne period
Reclamation Style - these reproduction handmade bricks are made using 16th century clamp making process, which produces the natural colour variation and ensure these brick pavers are a practical and reliable alternative source to period reclaimed bricks
Certification - BS EN 1344 certified, U3 Skid Resistance and Freeze-Thaw FP100
Handmade - Using time-honoured methods dating back to the 16th century, with some subtle weathering and sand creased texture
Character - These handmade bricks are thrown by hand in their moulds, giving each brick a unique individual texture (known as 'creases' or 'smiles')
Sustainable - Manufactured from sustainable sources
Colour - mostly orange and red bricks with some soft browns randomly patterned with creases, residual sand from the "sand struck" hand-thrown moulds and kiln soot/coal spotted from their clamp firing.
Based on typical clay paving bricks dating from the Tudor to Queen Anne period where clamp fired bricks were the norm, these Balmoral Blend Pavers provide the look and feel of traditional period clay brick pavers. Their colour variation (a by-product of clamp firing) and subtle weathering provides instant charm and a historic and established aesthetic.
Brick Colouring
Balmoral Pavers have a mix of mainly black and orange brick colours, with darker hues and marks from coal and soot used in the firing process. These colours are in keeping and closely match historic pavers, and posses the same patchwork of tones in the overall palette found in the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries.
Garden Paving Bricks
These clay paving brick are suitable for a range of garden paving and landscaping applications, including patios and terraces, steps and landings, paths and walkways, edging and borders. They can also be used to create decorative elements in your paving from feature surrounds, to inlays and patterned motifs.
Laying Patterns
The 200 x 100 x 50 mm size format of these paving bricks means they can be easily laid in a range of different designs, and are suitable for the following common patterns:
brick / stretcher bond
basket weave
herringbone (90 degree)
herringbone (45 degree)
They are also suitable as edging to other paving, and can be laid in a range of manners:
Stretcher / Double Stretcher / Triple Stretcher
Soldier Course
Inlay Pencil Course
Sawtooth Edging
Hand Made Bricks
These paving bricks are hand-made using traditional manufacturing and firing methods, which ensures they have all the character tics and appearance of period brick pavers such as crease, coal spots and temperature related colour variation. They also have sand-struck residue from their moulds that is present on some bricks, giving them an authentic hand-made, historic appearance.
Cost-Efficient Alternate to Reclaimed Bricks
Because these bricks are hand-made using the same methods and techniques used from the 15th Century, they closely resemble genuine clay pavers of that era. However, they are substantially more cost-efficient and much easier to sources. These bricks offer you the look and feel you need, but with the surety of supply and not breaking your budget either!

Deliveries normally take place Monday to Friday, excluding bank and public holidays, usually between 8am to 6pm.
Deliveries are made using a tail lift vehicle, which requires a solid, flat surface for the offload.
Unless otherwise requested, all deliveries are to the kerbside only (e.g. in the road adjacent to the kerb). We recommend reserving some space for your delivery. The driver may attempt to place the product on a driveway at their discretion. Please note, we cannot deliver onto a slope.
When we confirm your order has been despatched by email, you should:
Check the address details and telephone number so that we can contact you if necessary on the day of delivery.

Colour / tone variations in natural stone
Due to the nature of the material, no two pavers are alike. Particular shades of natural stone will have a slight colour variation. Where appropriate, we will supply a leaflet that will help demonstrate this variation in colour.
Please Note - Samples are not available on Clearance Products.
Due to the limited stock/availability of clearance products, unfortunately, we cannot cannibalise them to provide samples.
Split Packs
If you need a specific amount of paving we offer mini-packs for most of our best selling products that will allow you to achieve the right coverage in most cases. However, if you don't see an available mini-pack option you can call our team during office hours to arrange for a split pack order.

Need a specific amount - call our team now and we can arrange splitting down a pallet so you get specifically what you need.
Pallets that are split down are not included as free delivery. Standard Split Pack Pallet Delivery Fee Applies, which is £75 (Expedited options may incur extra charges - POA). This £75 covers the extra charge of a new wooden crate / pallet, packaging, labour & haulage delivery charge.
What is a split pack?
Paving products are palletised or crated to allow them to be transported and stored efficiently. This means they are generally sold with a specific number of pieces per pallet/crate. However, customers sometimes need less than a full pallet for their project. In these cases, we can split down the pallet by hand and then re-pack, re-bind and re-hood the pallet so they receive just the paving they need, saving you money on buying a full pack and having wasted slabs left over. Please remember to include 10% extra on your measured area for cuts/corners/breakage
Split Pack Exclusions
Please note we cannot split down packs of Bekstone Walling or Clearance Products.

Trading Ethically
Pavestone has always been acutely conscious of the concerns raised through consumers’ increasing awareness of the ethical issues associated with the production of natural stone products.
For many years we have been importing only from audited stone producers who can successfully demonstrate that their processes meet the moral and ethical codes as established by the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) Base Code. In doing so we have contributed to the economic success of the communities in which our stone processors work and have helped to provide a safer and more secure working environment for our supplier partners' employees. Pavestone is committed to ensuring that the working conditions of employees in our partner supply companies meet or exceed international standards and for many years we have adopted the ETI Base Code as a criteria for our supply chain.
The ETI Base Code
Employment should be freely chosen with no forced, bonded or involuntary labour.
Workers have the right to join or form trade unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively.
A safe and healthy working environment shall be provided.
Child labour shall not be used.
Wages should always be enough to meet basic needs and to provide some discretionary income.
Working hours are not excessive and comply with national laws and benchmark industry standards.
Workers should be treated equally regardless of race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation.
Regular employment for individuals should be provided where work is ongoing.
No harsh or inhumane treatment of workers. Physical abuse (or threat of), sexual or other harassment including verbal abuse or intimidation shall be prohibited.
